Alberobello & Polignano a Mare Full-Day Tour
We will depart this morning from your hotel to enjoy the beauty of Polignano al Mare & Alberobello.
In Alberobello, you will discover its famous fairytale-like 14th century Trulli houses, narrow alleys, and breathtaking views of the sea. This area grew and increased its economic importance after the Roman conquest and construction of the “Via Appia” road.
Alberobello experienced a happy and rich period when ruled by the Normans. On May 9, 1087, the body of St. Nicholas was brought to this area, making it one of the three main places of Christianity during the time.
You will have lunch at LA CANTINA and later you’ll have time for shopping, taking photos and relaxing in a true Trulli House.
In Polignano a Mare, you will explore this magical town where the cliffs meet the seaside of the Adriatic. It’s a small town, known also as the “Pearl of the Adriaticâ€. Polignano is the birthplace of the renowned singer Domenico Modugno, who became famous for his song Nel blu dipinto di blu (“In the Sky, Painted Blueâ€). You will enjoy beautiful views and people watching as the children who have grown up here play on the cliffs and have diving competitions daily during the summer months.
Crystal clear waters and cliffs pitted with caves carved by the sea gives Polignano a Mare its uniqueness. The fascinating historical center reveals traces of its Arab, Byzantine.
