If you are looking for a unique coastal experience, this is the perfect tour for you!. We will travel by express boat from Bergen to Krakhella and start our island hopping tour. Upon arrival in Krakhella the trip continues by land to Hardbakke, which is the municipality center of Solund and down to the quay where the postal boat Stjernsund will be waiting. In mostly calm waters we travel through narrow sounds and see many beautiful islands.
If you are lucky you may also catch porpoises, seals and sea eagles. The boat docks when there is a need for mail delivery or travelers are going on and off. Very often you will be able to sail by the islands Lågøy, Litle Færøy, Ytrøygrend, and Indrøy. The postal boat is a life nerve for the settlement, and it connects the islands with the municipality center. The last stop on the mail route is the picturesque fishing village Gåsvær located west of the sea and 14 residents through the summer.
When leaving Gåsvær you continue your journey across the open sea to Bulandet at Askvoll. At Bulandet you can hike up the Halsøhågen and get an overview of the islands, visit Bulandet Theme Park with exhibits from Bulandet past and present, or enjoy a great meal at Pernillestø or at the café in the store. You will also find art shops with great souvenirs from your journey. From Bulandet the tour continues by land to Værlandet where you take the ferry over to Askvoll and from there, on a boat take you back to Bergen.
