French capital of Wine and History Walking Tour
This tour will take you on a pleasant walk through the most beautiful part of Bordeaux listed as UNESCO World Heritage. You will visit unique squares and sites of the city and you will discover its most important monuments and their history, some of them dating back to medieval times. During the tour you will discover the historic city center and its many hidden architectural showpieces. You will head to the Cours de l’Intendance to discover ancient Bordeaux and the magnificent stretch from the river banks to the Place de la Comedie.
You will walk by the spectacular Place de la Bourse, the Bordeaux Cathedral St. Andre, The Great Bell, la tour Pey-Berland next to the Cathedral, Porte Cailhau, Grand Theatre de Bordeaux, the Quais and the Place des Quinconces.
Bordeaux is home to more than 360 monuments and protected buildings with exceptional urban and architectural ensemble (only Paris has more in France). The tour guide will tell you the history of the city going through the most important periods from Eleonor of Aquitaine who married French and English Kings to World War II and the Nazi Occupation of the city.
During the walk you will have a break to taste French patisseries with a cup of coffee or a glass of Bordeaux wine that depends on you!
