Dingle Day Trip
On this day trip from Limerick city you will discover the beauty of Kerry mountains and beaches along the way to Dingle and back.
Some of the most amazing mountain scenery in Ireland can be found in the Dingle Peninsula.
We will stop at the famed Inch beach which stretches for 3 miles facing the Atlantic ocean. Its golden sands became well known on the big screen as it has featured in many movies, most notably Ryan’s Daughter which was entirely filmed along its shoreline.
Then we will take the most westerly road in Europe known as the Slea Head drive. The road winds around through Gaelic speaking Corca Dhuibhne beginning at Ventry beach passing by the 4000 year old beehive huts (Star Wars) and onwards to Dunquin with amazing views of the great Blasket Island and the Sleeping Giant.
You will have time to hike down to Dunquin harbour and marvel at the Atlantic ocean and all its marine birds and sea life. You will travel on this spectacular road which hugs the western shoreline.
Enjoy great views of the Blasket Islands and maybe even see the “Sleeping Giant Island. ” You can also see skellig Michael from here.
We will then stop at Dingle town, which is one of the most picturesque fishing towns in Ireland, and is also famed for Fungi the dolphin who has been a local for almost 30 years.
