A full day tour taking in two contrasting areas of the Yorkshire coast, the high chalk cliffs of Flamborough, including Bempton cliffs RSPB reserve with is gannets and puffins, and the 3 mile (5km) long sand spit of Spurn separating the North sea from the Humber estuary. Along the way you will make optional stops at Skidby mill, Beverley and or Bridlington. This tour afford opportunities for coastal photography and bird watching as well as (optional) bracing coastal walks. You will pass a number of places where lunch can be taken with a choice of local seafood (especially fresh crab from Flamborough: can be taken in pub or ‘al fresco’) or Fish and Chips (from Bridlington or Hornsea)
Morning pick up before departing for Beverley (50 mins) with a chance to view the town from the westwood pasture before a walk around the outside of the Minster, Englands finest non-cathedral church. Then on to Skidby Mill, the only working english windmill north of the Humber. The Humber bridge can be seen from Skidby, but you will go right to it, with two or three stops to see viewpoints and an option to drive across.
Then you will go into the centre of Hull with a short stop to see old and new architecture before driving to Spurn. Here you will go to the lighthouse and walk on both shores.
You will turn north and drive through the different seaside towns of Witernsea (lighthouse) Hiornsea and Bridlington to reach the dramatic calk cliffs of Flamborough with visits to Bempton Cliffs (for gannets and puffins in season) and/or Thornwick.
