On this tour, we will focus on The Viking Age and the path to change to Christianity.
We will visit and explore the excavated Viking fortress Fyrkat and the reconstructed farmstead from The Viking Age. Fyrkat is one of five ring fortresses-perfectly circular earthen fortresses with four gates and two roads meeting at the center-built by King Harald Bluetooth. The Viking farmstead is a reconstruction of an actual farm excavated near Jelling, the birthplace of Harald Bluetooth.
We will also visit a beautiful Romanesque church with fantastic frescoes depicting the Christian Creed.
