We will depart early from Florence to head over to Lucca for a morning class with Chef Paolo. Chef Paolo in Lucca is famous for his culinary wonders and you will not only laugh but taste the local Tuscan wines while enjoying his humorous ways around the kitchen. We’ll then take a moment to enjoy the extraordinary dishes prepared by you for lunch before heading to the city center to stroll around Lucca.
The rectangular grid of its historical center preserves the Roman street plan, and the Piazza San Michele occupies the site of the ancient forum. Traces of the amphitheater still may be seen in the Piazza dell’Anfiteatro. Our next adventure in Tuscany will be heading over to the Piazza of Miracles in the city center of Pisa. Although Pisa is known worldwide for its leaning tower (the bell tower of the city’s cathedral), the city of over 90,834 residents (around 200,000 with the metropolitan area) contains more than 20 other historic churches, several medieval palaces and various bridges across the River Arno.
