Most Romantic Destinations in Europe for Valentine’s Day

In honor of Valentine’s day, CMC World Travel has come up with a list of what we consider to be the top 5 romantic cities in Europe. 

5. Budapest

Let all of your stress melt away as you spend a day unwinding with your partner in one of the world-famous thermal baths like Széchenyi Bath. Around this time of year, it’s particularly romantic to soak in one of the outdoor baths while taking in the snow-covered surrounding views. Afterwards, indulge in a relaxing massage. 
Spend the afternoon visiting local vendors and taking in the stunning architecture. 
Later, take a sunset cruise on the Danube River, enjoy the breathtaking views of the city from the water as the sun goes down and the buildings light up. Be sure to catch the beautiful evening view of the Castle and Parliament from the boat. 
While you’re in Budapest, you must also visit the Fisherman’s Bastion, in the Castle Hill, with your loved one. From this beautiful lookout tower from you can enjoy the breathtaking views of the city, especially romantic in the evening when the city is illuminated.

4. Prague 

Romance is at home in Prague. Fairytale cobblestone streets, breathtaking views, and incredible art and architecture all make this city the ideal escape for a romantic weekend. 
As a city built over 7 hills, there are endless lookout towers, rooftop bars and riverside restaurants with outstanding views. Take in the scenery over drinks and a meal, then head to Mala Strana to discover the love lock bridge. Here you’ll find thousands of locks that lovers before you have fastened to the bridge to symbolize their undying love for one another.
Head to Naplavka, on the river, and walk along the metal train bridge, where you’ll stop in the middle for a perfect view of the Prague castle over the river. 
Take a cruise around Prague’s canal or close out the afternoon watching the sunset over a picnic in Vysehrad & Its Poetic Cemetery. Here you’ll find amazing views of the city, an idyllic garden and the gravesites of Prague’s most famous poets.
End the day with an unforgettable evening at one of Prague’s beautiful opera houses, Prague State Opera House, the Estates Theater or the National Theater. 

3. Venice

There is something magical and so very romantic about this floating city- from floating through the lagoon, being serenaded by a Gondolier, on a private gondola ride, to getting lost with your loved one in the endless laneways on Venice Island, the possibilities truly are endless when you visit this one of a kind city. Beautiful from every angle, Venice has several open-air markets and market boats where you’ll find products you’ve likely never seen and won’t find anywhere else in Italy. 2. Paris

 No place in the world is said to rekindle love like Paris. With cobbled streets, intimate restaurants and a silky smooth native tongue, the French capital’s “City of Love†moniker is well deserved.
Head over to Pont de l’Alma Market in the 16th arrondissement or The Marché Saxe-Breteuil on the 7th and pick up all your picnic essentials. These enormous markets feature the freshest and finest gourmet goods from all of France. With ingredients in hand, enjoy al fresco dining under the shadow of the Eiffel Tower at Champ de Mars Park or surrounded by statues, fountains, and flowers at the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens.
Catch a view from the top of the Eiffel tower and then spend some time strolling along the river tasting fresh pastries and crepes from local vendors. Board a river cruise. 
Complete with a live orchestra and lively dancers, attending a cabaret at the Moulin Rouge is the perfect endcap to a day in Paris.

Although Shakespeare’s love story was fictional, historians claim that there actually is a legend of a star crossed love story that took place in Verona many years before the famous play. 
When you enter Juliette’s courtyard, be sure to admire the thousands of love notes lovers have left on the walls over the years. 
Later, experience open-air music at the Arena di Verona. This well-preserved Roman amphitheater known as the mini Colosseum is open to the public all year round and hosts a high-profile summer opera season which attracts cultural tourists from all around the world.
