On this full day tour, we will travel towards the most famous Loch in the World passing through the village of Beauly, climbing to over 1000ft above Loch Ness, where the Mountain views are stunning.
Our first stop of the day: Urquhart Castle. Built in the 13th century, it has changed hands several times during the Wars of Independence, witnessed violent clan rivalry and withstood Jacobite uprisings and played an important role in the control of a key route through the Scottish Highlands.
From there its just a short drive to Inverness for some free time to explore the City and have some lunch, and then its onto The Clava Cairns. They are a fascinating and historical burial tombs, a type of circular chamber tomb cairn from the Bronze Age that date back almost 4000yrs.
Our next stop is Culloden Battlefield. It has been restored as close as possible to how it was when the battle took place in April 1746. There is a fantastic state of the art visitors centre, where you will have time to take in over 250yrs of history and artefacts since the Battle.
From here, its just a wee drive back you your ship or accommodation.
