Royal Windsor Day Trip
Visit the charming town of Windsor and explore the oldest and largest occupied Royal castle in the world. Windsor has so much to offer and is a must for a day out. Windsor Castle has been home to Monarchs for close to one thousand years and is the Queen’s country retreat, closest to London. St George’s Chapel, located within the Castle, is the resting place of Henry VIII and where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were wed. This private tour has something for all ages. It is a door to door service from Southampton and can accommodate up to 7 people. You will be picked up from cruise ship at Southampton.
Travel time to Windsor is approximately 1.5 hours drive. Upon arrival in Windsor, you will visit Windsor Castle and also St George’s Chapel.
After visiting the historic buildings you will stroll through old Windsor, taking in the picturesque streets and alleyways adjacent to the castle, whilst heading towards the River Thames to cross over the water into the neighbouring village of Eton.
Depending on the itinerary you require, you may choose to take lunch in one of the many traditional english pubs that Windsor has to offer.
At the end of your visit to Windsor, if time allows on your return journey to Southampton, you can also stop off and visit the historic sight of Runnymede, which is where King John signed the Magna Carta. Your guide will be delighted to give you time for snack and drinks.
