Zurich Old Town and West Modern District Tour
Labeled as the most expensive city in the world, Zurich is famous for its luxurious lifestyle, high-end shopping, and fancy chocolates; and as the home to Switzerland’s most important airport, Zurich is often the first city that visitors get to see.
It has drawn people from the rest of Switzerland for centuries, but in the 20th and 21st century it has also begun to draw both people and companies from outside Switzerland and in some cases even outside Europe.
On this tour you will explore the Old Town and discover:
– Lindenhof, where it all started some hundreds of years BC.
– The churches that became protestant after the reformation.
– The Police Station – an unexpected beauty.
– The place where Lenin planned the Revolution.
– Lots of little bars, restaurants and shops, many of them in medieval buildings.
We’ll have a lunch break in a typical Zurich restaurant and then we will discover the modern district of West Zurich West where you will see:
– The new location of the National Theatre in an old Ship Factory,
– A shop, that is built out of old containers, selling bags made out of canvas.
– Fancy stores and a top food market within an old viaduct
– Hip restaurants and tiny bars next to the Prime Tower with its 126 meters.
Let us have a coffee in the fancy café Clouds on the top floor of this business building.
From here we’ll enjoy a magnificent view of Zurich, the lake and the mountains.
