Bordeaux Long and Fascinating History Tour
On this tour, you will discover the long and fascinating history of Bordeaux. You will visit some of France’s most beautiful squares and architectural wonders on permanent display in a modern city filled with medieval and even Gallo Roman structures.
Your tour guide will take you along the Garonne river to show you a controversial bridge commissioned by Napoleon and tell you all about Bordeaux’s Nazi occupation as well as a Viking invasion in the 10th century. You will learn why Bordeaux is nicknamed the ‘Dark Capital’ and also ‘Sleeping Beauty’.
Then on to Europe’s largest square with gorgeous fountains, statues, and plenty of activity. You will see the Grand Bordeaux Theater, two Renaissance towers, and a breathtaking cathedral where a historical marriage took place in 1137. And of course, no tour would be complete without coffee and a croissant at sidewalk cafes!
