You’ll explore the highlights of the National Gallery: Europeans masters like Carvaggio, Monet and Picasso; a look at the Irish painter Jack Yeats; and most importantly you will see works that tell the story of Irish history.
Then you will visit the beautiful National Library with a vast reading room that transports you back to Joyce’s Dublin of 1904. Re-ignite your admiration for poetry with an insight into the life and works of W. B. Yeats’s, Ireland’s Greatest Poet.
The Museum has the biggest gold collection outside of Greece! And the Treasury has the finest metal objects ever created in Ireland. The Tara Brooch and the Ardagh Chalice exemplify the height of Irish art ca. 700-800AD, and since their re-discovery they have inspired freedom-fighters, artists, sportspeople, poets and the average Joe in Ireland with an admiration and fascination for their nation’s cultural achievements/accomplishments.
