Leuven Highlights Day Trip
On this Day Trip from Brussels, departing from your hotel, we will be driving to Leuven. A medieval university city which is known for its breweries and a young atmosphere.
On the central square, you will discover the 15th-century town hall, with its tall spires. The building is decorated with hundreds of statues of local figures, biblical characters, and saints. Opposite, the late Gothic St. Peter’s Church houses a “Last Supper†by the Flemish Primitive painter Dieric Bouts. We will also visit the Old Market Place and the university buildings with hidden corners that will hold no more secrets for you.
The grand beguinage from the 13th century will take you back in time to when the beguines were still living.
As Leuven was a martyr city in the First World War, you are not going to miss the town’s history.
And of course the biggest brewery in the world, AB Inbev once started in 1366 in Leuven and is now producing the famous Stella Artois.
