Stonehenge and Salisbury Day Trip
Stonehenge is a world famous prehistoric monument designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
The attractive city of Salisbury which received its charter in 1227 is just 8 miles from Stonehenge. It has been an administrative, commercial and religious centre since medieval times. A traditional market is still held every Tuesday and Saturday throughout the year. The cathedral is a fine example of Early English architecture dating from the mid-13th century with a spire which is the highest in the UK. It contains the world’s oldest working clock (1386) and it houses the best-preserved of the four surviving copies of the Magna Carta.
