Tivoli and Villa d’Este Full-Day Tour
This morning you will go directly to Tivoli. You will go to visit an Estate perched high above the city of Tivoli and a UNESCO World Heritage site called Villa d’Este. It is a fine example of Renaissance architecture and the Italian Renaissance garden period of the 15th Century. Exploring both the remarkable works of Pirro Ligorio, who was responsible for the iconographic programs worked out in the Villa’s frescos and the technical designs for the fountains by a Frenchman, Claude Venard, who was a manufacturer of hydraulic organs that we will hear playing during our visit.
