Wismar, Kühlungsborn & Bad Doberan Day Trip
Beautifully located at a bay of the Baltic Sea, Wismar was founded in the 13th century. It became known for its dark beer, called Mumme and it built its wealth on the export of beer.
The gabled houses around town and the massive brick churches in the city centre, reflect that wealth and nowadays it’s considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Later we will drive further through a lovely landscape to Kühlungsborn, a popular seaside resort at the Baltic coast where you will see an old clock tower from GDR-times.
The last stop will be the Minster of Dobera. Built in the 13th century it is a pearl of brick architecture and houses the oldest main altar in art history where you will learn about the life of the cistercian monks here in Doberan.
